DYH 2.0 challenges you to design thriving ecosystems—whether on a spaceship, the Moon, or Mars—while inspiring solutions for a more sustainable "Spaceship Earth."

Design Your Habitat 2.0: Habitat Tales Interested in partnering with us for educational sessions at your school or out of school time organization?

A standout project within DYH 2.0, Habitat Tales empowers students to design space communities through art, research, and coding. The first initiative, launched in Mexico City with Google, engaged 200 middle schoolers in bringing their visions to life through storytelling and technology.

​Create an artwork that imagines communities in space—a place where we're more than individuals, we’re vibrant neighborhoods, settlements, and interconnected spaces. Show us your vision of collaborative living in the cosmos through your visual unique art! 
Artwork guidelines: Images must be .jpg, .gif, .png or pdf files, with 25 Mb maximum file size. Open to all ages. If you are under 18 years old, you will need parental permission. 
This guide will assist you in thinking, exploring and creating a visual art of your ideal space community.

In line with our Xpand Your Horizon Challenges, DYH 2.0 campaign is not a contest and no winners will be announced, but it connects participants of all ages - serving as a vibrant hub for interaction, collaboration, and creativity beyond traditional boundaries.
Virtual Creativity Workshops:
Join SAE for a live art session, fostering a global community. Guided by a professional artist, participants will learn, engage in live chat, and collaborate to broaden their artistic horizons across diverse styles.

Explore Our Original Campaign, Imagining Our Ideal Spaces

Original Prompt: What would be the perfect space you imagine for yourself, either here on Earth, in space, or on another planet?

During the beginnings of the pandemic we were all in isolation and confinement, and we imagined our ideal living spaces, whether on Earth, in space, or on another planet. We shared our ideas, drawing inspiration from our isolated lifestyles, to envision what it would be like to explore space or settle on distant planets.

​We enjoyed engaging in fun activities under 8 themes related to our current Earth habitats and those on space crafts, stations, and outposts. The activities were designed for all ages but were particularly accessible to youth aged 10-18.
