LIFE IN SPACE
Activity Duration:
 90 min
Recommended Age: 6th- 7th grade

Astronauts work to explore and help us understand our amazing and immense solar system and universe.  Let's learn together what happens to the human body when astronauts are in space.

SUSTAINABLE TERRARIUM
Activity Duration: 1-30 days
Recommended Age: 10-18

Who would love to build their own mini garden inside?   A terrarium is your solution to growing a garden if you don’t have much space available or your climate doesn’t provide you with an opportunity to grow certain plants or foods.

MAKE IT IN TO SPACE
Activity Duration:
 30 min per activity
Recommended Age: 6-11 yrs.

Take a journey into space and learn more about the Sun, Moon, Mars and the Solar System. Helen Schell, artist and STEM/space Ambassador, has prepared creative activities which children and adults can carry out in all environments, using recycled materials where possible.
SPACE HAVEN: ADVENTURES IN OUTERSPACE
Activity Duration: 4 hours
Recommended Age: 10-13

Create a fictional story describing how the human body functions to survive in space. Design a costume and superpowers that enhance the abilities of the human body.
Picture
NEEL SOCKSTRONG
Activity Duration: 1 hour
Recommended Age: 4-11+

Create a sock puppet astronaut in training to be a friend with Neel Sockstrong (our resident puppet astronaut at SciArt Exchange). In this activity, you can create your own puppets and design stories about their space adventures with Neel! You will need to learn about the parts of an astronaut’s suit and why they are needed to protect a person in space.

SPACE EXPLORATION: MISSION TO MINE
Activity Duration: 60-120 minutes
Recommended Age: 10-13
Planets, moons, asteroids and other celestial bodies in our solar system aren’t just giant rocks or gaseous objects orbiting in space. They may have valuable resources that can help humans explore space. These resources could be materials needed directly on Earth or for deeper space travel (water, fuel, building materials, etc.). Create a mission to make a planetary resource station! In this activity you will design a poster to recruit the crew you will need to launch a "Mission to Mine".

COSMIC MUSIC

Recommended Age: 6-9
"Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, and life to everything" -- Plato.
